As Steve Jobs would say: “BOOM.” Apple (AAPL) has eclipsed Google (GOOG) in market value. Apple’s current market cap: $159.37 billion. Google’s: $157.56 billion.
Even with all the screw-upslately, Apple is still rolling.
It makes my eyes hurt to look at Brett Favre in a Jets jersey. But that subject will be beaten into the ground all season.
What’s more important to me is if Joe Namath will be on the sidelines saying he believes everything anyone else has watched Favre play, impresses him the same thing impresses them.
That he’s a quality, classy quarterback, that has a touch on the football.
That he’s not a thrower. He’s a passer. His mind is ahead of what the defense is. And if the Jets can support him, they will win the championship.
Oh, and that he could care less about the Jets and wants to kiss Suzy Kolber.
While his presence may be gone, Caray’s voice will continue forever live with the history of the Braves. His most memorable call arguably came when he exclaimed, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” after Braves center fielder Marquis Grissom caught the final out of the 1995 World Series.
The son of a Hall of Fame broadcaster, Skip devoted much of his life to the broadcasting world. He began his broadcasting career at KMOX Radio in St. Louis as host of a 15-minute high school sports show and later had an opportunity to broadcast University of Missouri football games with his father.
The long-time voice of the Atlanta Braves will be missed.
