A little part of America died today

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety”
- Ben MF Franklin, ~1755

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), born after the Watergate scandal, establishes how the government can secretly eavesdrop on Americans in their own country in intelligence investigations.

The US Senate today passed the FISA bill.

Thanks, Barry!

Oh stop your whining. If you have nothing to hide, then what’s the big deal? Think about it, the IRS knows more about you without FISA, so does TIVO and Google for that matter …… give me a break. We need to catch, kill, and eliminate those crazies who only want to destroy America and Americans. Let’s stop trying to help our enemies and start helping the USA (no matter which party is in office).

What’s the big deal with having the executive branch of our government follow the constitution and obtain warrants for wiretaps?

This is exactly the reason why we have 3 branches of government. To maintain checks and balances. Anytime one branch can overstep the others, something is wrong. It’s that simple.
