Paul Gleason (aka principal Richard Vernon from The Breakfast Club) died Saturday of mesothelioma at the young age of 67.
Aside from his brilliant role in TBC, what’s cool is Gleason played football at Florida State and , for a short time, played Triple A baseball.

as yet more evidence that my brother Mark is indeed a real life Forrest Gump, he managed to piss off the Squirrel Nut Zippers on his blog.
Apparently while not writing Top 20 singles, former members of the now defunct band are hanging out on MT.Net. The ex-Zippers state their side of the break-up (they went to arbitration with their former bandmates) and help us polish up on our grammar at the same time.
The thread started out a bit uncivil, but thanks to David Lee Roth, eventually turned the corner to mild amusement.

I’ve been using a ThinkPad T40 for the past few years and considered it the best laptop I’ve owned — until now. I picked up a MacBook 2.0 GHz (white) last week and I’ve been playing around with it for a few days.
While T40 did many things right and it’s still a great lappy, the mix of Apple’s awesome design and attention to detail in the MacBook is making me into a Mac fanboy.
