MySQL 5.0 likes to go awayposted Nov 8 2005

Has anyone else had major problems creating stored procedures in MySQL 5.0? I have tried about 12 times to compile a fairly simple procedure with an INSERT, UPDATE and IF statement, and MySQL craps out every time I try to execute it. It may be because I’m from the “old school” of databases like SQLServer and Oracle, but I expected when MySQL provided support for stored procs that they would, um, work. As a side, this should tell you how bad I want to get away from MS SQL! Not that I don’t think Microsoft’s SQLServer is a great product, just that MS isn’t doing the independent developer any favors with their licensing. And don’t bring me SQL Express. That’s not an option for most sites. JT.Net 3.0posted Nov 7 2005

I told you it was coming. You just didn’t know it would be this powerful. Or whatever. I really just wanted to clean up JT.Net a bit. I’ll be posting more about web programming and various tech stuff, but I’ll still pepper the conversation with current events and Carolina Panther cheerleader highlights. Stay tuned! I know you will. ps - rounded corners are totally web 2.0. |
