In November of 1919, president Woodrow Wilson proclaimed this day Armistice Day:
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the conflict between the Allied forces and Germany ended in an armistice . And so on this day we observe Veterans Day to honor not only those who fought and died in WWI, but to all of those who serve this great country. I’m off tonight with the lil’ misses to see Drew Carey and the Improv All Stars downtown tonight. I was a fan of the original “Who’s line is it, anyway?” show (and the Carey remix, which was also good) so I’m excited to see it live and in person.
